This past weekend there was a partial lunar eclipse. Being a geek dad, I was very excited to share this stellar moment (ahem) with my 3 year old son. Michigan winters are famous for lake-effect clouds & snowfall, so alas, all we saw was 100% cloud cover and light flurries. I later was looking on NASA's web site for future lunar & solar eclipses.

Anyway, I was entering the upcoming events that had possibility of being seen in Michigan in my PDA. Then I stopped and looked at what I was doing. I had a calendar entry for Monday 8/21/2017. I was booking a day of cool geek fun with my (now) 3 year old son and his unborn brother- 10 years in the future. They'll be 13 & 10 then. Wow...

Side note: there are several Lunar eclipses coming up, but the next Michigan visible Solar eclipse will be 8/21/2017. Bummer....
